![]() Earlier this week, judges in California decided that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional. It took about fifty years for anyone but me to realize, I guess. But what I'm tired of even more than a lot of jerkfaces pushing their belief in god on me, is a lot of jerkfaces pushing their belief in America on me.
I refuse to accept that this nation, or any other, exists. I don't diplomatically recognize it. I refuse to consider myself anything except a soul like any other(etc.). Abstract concepts like Jesus Christ being a human sacrifice to relieve me of my sins and like the United States of America are too irrational to justify to me.
Basically, a country is when a few people kill a few other people so they can live someplace, and then they erect a city and hire hundreds of bureaucrats to come live in it, and then they draw some red lines on a map and, if anyone they don't like comes into those lines, they'll kill them, too. And they'll keep on taxing people and killing people and hiring fat cat lawmakers until the Barbarians come over the Esquiline and someone a little stronger with some weapons that are better constructed will kill the original people, too. And everyone will keep recklessly killing people and for basically nothing except a dumb idea about Nationhood.
Or what's maybe better, we can all decide that we don't want to kill other people anymore. You can all do what I do, and just say to hell with all of it, you're not going to admit that you're country exists, either. That is, unless it gets rid of its nuclear arsenal and gets rid of its military, for starters. About a hundred other reforms need to happen right after that, until government does one or two very nice things for everyone, like making roads and giving old people money for pills, but is so small otherwise that you couldn't even tell it was there.
Government seems like the Catholic Church to me: worshipping silly ideals and getting fat by fucking around with the common people, idolizing twelve or so old men, making everyone do stupid things like saying chants and singing songs and worshipping ugly symbols like statues and flags and stealing our money so they can use it to continue to make us think that they need to exist.
